I forgot to note that the way Susan Ode’s name was chosen was by taking the entire list of everyone who completed the survey, randomizing it by using random.org. Then generating a random number (also from random.org)–which turned out to be 98. Susan Ode was #98 on the randomized list of participants. Just to make it doubly official, I asked Christen Crumley from Rick’s office to be my witness and we did the whole thing together via readytalk.

      Hi Evaluation Committee,
I’m back from vacation and want to update everyone on where we are at with the evaluation. First of all, thanks everyone for helping to turnout a great showing for the survey! 181 people took the survey, representing 99 organizations. That’s 74% of our organizational membership!

Secondly, the winner of the $2500 in professional development funds is Susan Ode, from ICLEI (I think that stands for International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, but I can’t remember for sure right now. It’s something along those lines.) If no one objects, I will go ahead and contact her to let her know and then announce it to the network. Jeremy, I know that you have not yet had to manage any of the budget for this 3rd Party Evaluation, but just want to flag it for you that you will be the one to work out the reimbursement for her when the time comes. (While I’m at it, I should also flag that once they deliver the draft findings, we owe them their second payment.)

Speaking of draft findings, Pete and Chinwe would like to meet with this committee on Wednesday to help think through the final direction their report will take, based on what they are seeing so far. Please set aside the morning of Wednesday, August 17 for this conference call. I will send additional information as soon as possible with exact times and with call in/webinar information.

Lastly, although their final report will not be completed in time for the annual meeting, they will be getting close. Pete will have about 15 minutes to present some form of their findings to the entire body of the annual meeting, and then we will have about 45 minutes of discussion in the plenary. To my knowledge, this will be the first time we have ever really tried to talk about RE-AMP in its entirety with all the members in in one place to discuss. This committee should think about how we would see this discussion helping to move us forward. It’s a great opportunity!

Thanks everyone, I will send more info as it develops.
      Gail

Welcome back, Gail–hope you had a wonderful time away!

Thanks for the update. 181 respondents sounds pretty darn good, especially considering it was a rather long survey.

I’m fine with your going ahead and contacting Susan Ode.

Also, just wanted to let you know I may have a complication with the call on Wednesday next week. I think I have to step in for a colleague on a trip to Phoenix and may be stuck in a meeting all morning. I’ll see what I can do about stepping away for the call, but it would be helpful to know the time as soon as possible. Alternatively, I may ask Lois or Mandy to cover the call instead of me.

      Thanks!  –Jessica
