The American Wind Energy Association has reported that U.S. wind farms generate the most electricity in the world. This is a nuance from Germany, which still has more generating capacity installed. However, the U.S. is producing more electricity because it has much stronger winds. Read the press release or check out the full report for more information.
AWEA lists four of the seven RE-AMP states in the Top 10 states for wind potential.
- North Dakota
- Texas
- Kansas
- South Dakota

The other three RE-AMP states fall in the Top 20 (Michigan #14, Illinois #16, Wisconsin #18). Check out the full list on AWEA’s fact sheet, “Top 20 States with Wind Energy Resource Potential."
