Transit Breaks Records

A new report by the American Public Transportation Association shows that transit use has increased by 3 percent, and light rail use jumped by 10 percent. To no one’s surprise, high gas prices have triggered the increase. The Association reached these numbers by calculating the number of transit trips from January to March of this year, in comparison to January to March of last year. Early figures suggest that ridership will increase even more in coming months, according to a new USA Today article. However, the article states that only 5 percent of workers commute by transit.
