General Motors linked up with Illinois’ renewable energy company Coskata Inc. in January to produce cellulosic ethanol. Now, with similar intentions, GM is pairing up with Massachusetts-based Mascoma Corp. The two groups will develop ethanol from wood chips, paper sludge and switch grass. GM has said that it hopes to double is annual flex-fuel production so half of its vehicles will be able to run on E85 by 2012. Click here to read the Associated Press story.
