Department of Natural Resources Secretary Matt Frank says Wisconsin is in a unique position to develop biofuels.

"While we're still in the early stages, there is true potential in biomass from the byproducts of paper manufacturing and what we leave behind in agriculture," Frank said.

On Thursday, Frank presented "The Role of Biofuels in Wisconsin's Energy Future" as part of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's College of Natural Resources and Biology Department colloquium on energy and natural resources.
