Basin Electric Power has taken another step in its coal plant project. It selected Selby, S.D., for the site. The selection does not mean that the project will go through. Associated Press BISMARCK, N.D. - Basin Electric Power Cooperative has selected a South Dakota site as its preferred location for a coal-fired power plant. The Bismarck-based company's board of directors voted Wednesday for the site near Selby, S.D., after evaluating more than a dozen factors for the so-called NextGen plant, spokesman Floyd Robb said. The site selection does not mean the project, which could cost as much as $2 billion, is a done deal, Robb said. |
