DES MOINES — Wells Dairy Inc. in LeMars was recognized Wednesday by Gov. Chet Culver for the company’s work to improve energy efficiency.

The company was one of four recipients of the Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards, sponsored by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

“These award winners have proven that the economy and environment do go hand in hand, that the opportunities for our state will be enhanced, not limited, when we consider natural resources in our decisions,” Culver said.
