Here in Iowa, we're proud of our state's excellent quality of life. Iowa is a great place to live, work and raise a family. That's why we consistently rank as one of the most livable states in the country.
During the 2007 session, the Legislature moved ahead with several initiatives to continue improving Iowa's quality of life. We took steps to grow our economy, make our state more attractive to young people, revitalize our small towns and big city communities, and improve our cultural and recreational opportunities.
The new Iowa Power Fund will help grow our energy economy, create good-paying jobs, and reduce climate change. This four-year, $100 million initiative is designed to stimulate research, attract investment, and expand our renewable energy and clean technology industries. By investing in bold ideas, Iowa will remain a world leader in renewable energy.
