BISMARCK – North Dakota public service commissioners quizzed TransCanada officials Wednesday about why they want the Keystone crude oil pipeline routed through eastern North Dakota instead of sharing existing pipeline corridors.

Commissioner Kevin Cramer noted that the Alliance and Northern Border natural gas pipelines cross the state diagonally, coming from Alberta and ending in or just beyond Illinois, just as Keystone does.

“Have you adequately looked at all the options?” he asked TransCanada’s Mike Koski, who is in charge of the route.
