Gov. Chet Culver publicly introduced on Tuesday the Iowans who will be in charge of a new state program to invest $100 million in renewable energy research and development projects.
Roya Stanley, a former Iowa Department of Natural Resources energy specialist, will be the point person of the effort, serving as director of the new Office of Energy Independence.
Stanley has been a liaison between the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo., and state, local and farm leaders since 2000.
