PIERRE - A formal hearing on a Canadian company's plan to build a crude oil pipeline through South Dakota will be held in December, the state Public Utilities Commission decided Tuesday.
The PUC settled on a two-pronged approach to the matter, which is scheduled for a two-week hearing in the first half of December.
Anyone who wishes to offer comments about the project would have that opportunity in one portion of the December hearings.
The second portion would be a more formal hearing. Prefiled testimony would be required for that portion of the process, and those who offered such testimony would be open to cross-examination.
