The adverse economic impact of our excessive dependence on oil dramatically hinders the ability of businesses to provide U.S. consumers with quality products and services at affordable prices. That 'value proposition' supported the creation of Southwest Airlines, and I've joined SAFE to try to make sure the same proposition can support the next generation of great American businesses."

America's severe oil dependence has created grave risks that must be addressed on a sustained basis in the halls of Congress and the Board Rooms across Corporate America."

Without a doubt, oil dependence is one of the most serious risks imposed on America's businesses and national security today. We need to develop strategies that effectively manage this risk, while also considering bolder long-term solutions.
